Lil Wayne denies engagement: 'She just said yes to being my Valentine'

Lil Wayne has insisted that he is not engaged after presenting his girlfriend with a large ring on Valentine's Day.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper was initially thought to have proposed marriage after hiding the jewellery in an ice cream sundae as they dined out on Tuesday.

Barton G restaurant in Miami confirmed to TMZ that they were accomplices in his plan to hand over a yellow rock to his partner, and that guests in the eatery witnessed him tell diners: "She said yes!"

The artist even repeated his claim on Twitter that night, prompting millions to believe he was planning on getting married.

However, the musician, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, has denied that the gift was anything more than a romantic gesture for the day of love.

He later added: "I meant 'she said yes' to being my valentine!!! Hahahahahahaha! Y'all krazy!"
