Young Money/Cash Money Records are out to prove the company is much more than urban music by signing rocker Fred Durst's rap-metal crew, Limp Bizkit.

Durst publicly broke the news early Friday (February 24) morning.

"The game is missing danger, electricity, and rock n roll!!!!" Cash Money Limp Bizkit," he tweeted Friday.

"Rock sh*t doesn't rock anymore! They say the whole game done went pop so I'm back in this ho! #CMLB" (Fred Durst's Twitter)

According to reports, Young Money's Lil Wayne has also made the deal official.

In an interview with New York's 98.7 KissFM station DJ Lenny Green, Wayne said, "we're always listening and looking at acts. Every other day I hear about somebody new just signed to Cash Money ... The other day I found out Limp Bizkit signed to Cash Money. They're signing everybody." Wayne also said that the label could be working with former Murder Inc. princess Ashanti, but it was the news that Bizkit would join the likes of Nicki Minaj and Drake ! that rai sed the most eyebrows. Bizkit's run in the music industry dates all the way back to the mid-1990's.

The rap-metal outfit Limp Bizkit was formed in Florida in 1994 by vocalist Fred Durst and his friend, bassist Sam Rivers. Rivers' cousin John Otto soon joined on drums, and guitarist Wes Borland completed the original foursome (later supplemented by DJ Lethal). After Korn played the Jacksonville area in 1995, bassist Fieldy got several tattoos from Durst (a tattoo artist) and the two became friends. The next time Korn were in the area, they picked up Limp Bizkit's demo tape and were so impressed that they passed it on to their producer, Ross Robinson. Thanks mostly to word-of-mouth publicity, the band was chosen to tour with House of Pain and the Deftones. The label contracts came pouring in, and after signing with Flip/Interscope, Limp Bizkit released their debut album, Three Dollar Bill Y'All. (All Music)

The group's signing comes after the recent addition of rap veterans Mystikal and Busta Rhymes to Cash Money.

"This whole experience that's getting ready to happen is probably going to be one of the most defining moments in hip-hop and probably in entertainment overall," said Busta. "This alliance with the Conglomerate and YMCMB and me and [Birdman] and [Lil] Wayne, the whole family, it's something that's been a long time coming because we just always had a respect level and a genuine and organic friendship for a very long time. It goes back in the day because me and Bird used to spend a million dollars a year on cars alone just to compete! at the Funk Flex car shows and talk sh*t to each other and live it up and have fun."
