Louisiana's State District Judge Tony Marabella sentenced Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, to three months behind bars after the rapper was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse battery back on February 22 in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, according to The Advocate.

Mystikal's attorney, Roy Maughan Jr. told The Advocate that Mystikal was given credit for the nine days he spent in jail after his arrest in February.

"It was an unfortunate incident between two people who have cared a lot about each other for ten years,'' Maughan said of the domestic abuse battery arrest. Maughan continued to "describe Tyler and the victim as domestic partners."

Mystikal's three-month bid comes two years after released from state prison. He served six years, from 2004 to 2010, at Elayne Hunt Correctional Faculty for sexual battery and extortion.
