Lil Wayne says he's 'good' after suffering seizure

(RNN) - Rapper Lil Wayne wants the world to know he's OK as he recovers from a seizure at a Los Angeles hospital.

The rapper tweeted 'I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love' after rumors circulated online that he was in a medically induced coma, as reported by gossip website TMZ.

The website reported Lil Wayne was "in the ICU in critical condition" after suffering a seizure.

Following the initial reports, fellow artists on his record label Young Money refuted that he is gravely ill.

Young Money Entertainment president Mack Maine tweeted on Friday that Lil Wayne is fine and the pair are watching the Syracuse basketball game together.

"Wayne is alive and well!" Maine tweeted, adding "don't believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe...that's false!!"

It is not clear whether the rapper himself or someone from his camp tweeted the statement from his account.

Shortly after the tweet, TMZ reported the rapper was, "in critical condition ... but stabilizing."

Sarah Cunningham, a publicist with Wayne's record label Young Money, confirmed to CNN that the rapper did have a seizure.

CNN also confirmed with Wayne's independent publicist Kia Selby that, "Wayne is doing well," refuting TMZ's initial reports.

This is not the first time this week Lil Wayne has been in the hospital for seizures.

On Tuesday, TMZ reported Lil Wayne was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital for seizures, but was released on Wednesday.

According to Vibe online, his 10th studio album, "I Am Not a Human Being" is scheduled to be released March 26.
