Lil Wayne 'Calls The Shots' At Hot 97 Summer Jam, Tyga Says

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey Cash Money's still the company and Weezy's the boss, but in spite of Lil Wayne's Hot 97 boycott, Young Money wasn't completely absent from the radio station's annual Summer Jam concert on Sunday.

Though Tunechi instructed Nicki Minaj and all of his YMCMB artists not to take the stage at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Tyga, who had his own solo set scheduled, rocked the mic just as the drama was unfolding.

MTV News caught up with the L.A. rapper after he finished his set and just as news was spreading about the Young Money/ Summer Jam fiasco. "Man, I ain't got no comment on it ... but you know, the boss calls the shots, so," Tyga said, showing his loyalty to Wayne.

Nicki was slated to headline the hip-hop extravaganza and the reigning rap queen had quite a few surprises for her Barbz in attendance. Not only was Ms. Minaj going to perform her biggest hits, she planned to shock the crowd by bringing out Lauryn Hill, Nas, Foxy Brown and Cam'ron as well as her YM boss Lil Wayne during her set. Unfortunately for the fans, things didn't pan out after Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg, who was hosting, took a swipe at Minaj. On the pre-concert stage in the parking lot, where artists like A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar performed, Rosenberg announced, "I know there's some chicks here waiting to sing 'Starships' later, I'm not talking to y'all right now. F--- that bullsh--. I'm here to talk about real hip-hop sh--," he said.

The dig didn't go over well with Weezy. "Young Money ain't doing summer jam," he wrote on Twitter.

YMCMB artists DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes and Ace Hood were all backstage ready to put on a show, but none of them touched a mic after Wayne's message. Still, the fans w! ere able to get a taste of Tyga, who hit the stage early in the evening, rocking songs like "Rack City" and Drake's "The Motto." Despite all of the drama, the YM hitmaker was appreciative of the Tri-State area crowd.

"This is hip-hop and this is the Mecca," he said. "This is where it started, so just for them to acknowledge me and put me on the bill it means a lot being from L.A., the West Coast."
