Lil Wayne clothing line launch feels awesome
Lil Wayne is proud to have launched his new clothing line.
The rapper has recently placed his Trukfit brand of skating clothes in high-end US department store Macys.
Lil Wayne believes that scoring such a huge deal with the retailer is a great feat.
It feels awesome. I told my mom, and she was like, 'That's great!' She shops at Macy's, he told MTV News. I'm pretty proud of myself, pat on the back.
Lil Wayne grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana with very little money in his pocket. As a poor youth, the musician looked to charity to clothe himself.
There was a truck that would come around the neighbourhood for the less-fortunate people that can't go to those stores, and he would have those same items those Polos, those [Tommy Hilfigers] for less, Lil Wayne explained. If you were known to have that outfit, then it was not called an 'outfit,' it was called a 'truck fit.'
