See how Lil Wayne's Mountain Dew commercial was created through the DEWeezy project.
This past summer, the action sports and youth organization STOKED teamed up with Mountain Dew and Lil Wayne to teach young people the ins and outs of creating and producing a TV commercial. The result was The DEWeezy Project, which came to life when a lucky group of teenagers from New York got to work with the self-proclaimed best rapper alive (we believe him) and famed video/film director Chris Robinson, plus industry professionals, who handed over the reins to a highly creative, motivated group of kids to make a real TV commercial featuring the one and only Weezy.
In the mini-doc clips, we see the DEWeezy Project teens in action as they generated ideas for the commercial, learned how to storyboard, all the way to the final product, which features Lil Wayne skateboarding. STOKED is probably the right word to describe the situation.
