Ryan Lochte vs. Charlie Sheen vs. Lil Wayne: Whose Grill Takes the Gold?

Image
startraksphoto.com; Jason Merritt, Adam Pretty/Getty Images Not since George Foreman and his drip pan has one sportsman's grill gotten quite so much attention (er, for good or bad). Well, Ryan Lochte did say he was all about breaking records in London, right? What better way to start than with the column inches raked up by the oh-so-patriotic mouthpiece shown off by Team USA's gold medalist swimmer . The 27-year-old waterlogged phenom wasted no time in swapping Olympic rings for Olympic bling this week, having trotted out his star-spangled grill shortly after scoring his first individual medal over the weekend. But he's hardly the first star to rock the diamond dentures. Ryan Lochte: Everything You Need to Know Long a mainstay of his podium celebrations , Lochte made good on his pre-game promise to pull out the bauble-encrusted American flag grill shortly after his inaugural win. Not that we can blame him for being so quick to throw on the accessorythe grill was custom-d

Man Who 'Discovered' Drake Sues For Alleged Unpaid Royalties

Drake scored five MTV Video Music Awards nominations this morning, but that's about the only good news the rapper is getting today. Jas Prince , the man who originally discovered Drake before he was signed to Lil Wayne 's Young Money label, has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan State Supreme Court against the musician's management team for breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. According to Courthouse News Service , "A Houston music scion credited with discovering rapper Drake says the artist's managers are withholding his $100,000 cut of profits and are stiffing Drake, putting 'the entire Drake business in jeopardy.'" In total, there are 10 claims against Drake's current manager Cortez Bryant , Gerald "Gee" Roberson , Derrick Lawrence and the firm Aspire Music Group LLC. "Prince says he and Bryant agreed to split their share of Drake's profits. Drake has since sold millions of records and won numerous awards," repo

Some have taken issue with the track, which appears on his latest album The One (released in June), suggesting that the 45-year-old is declaring his preference for black women of lighter skin (he happens to be married to one, Prince 's ex-wife Manuela Testolini ). Drake's Management Sued For Unpaid Royalties

Before Lil Wayne made headlines signing Drake to Young Money, it was talent scout James "Jas" Prince Jr. who first saw the potential in the Toronto MC. And now the young Houston executive wants what he claims is his just due. The New York Daily News reported that Jas Prince, son of Rap-a-Lot CEO J. Prince, has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court against Drake's management team for breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. In total, there are 10 claims against Drizzy's manager Cortez Bryant, Gerald "Gee" Roberson, Derrick Lawrence and the firm Aspire Music Group LLC. It's well-known that it was Prince who first introduced Drake to the team over at Young Money after hearing his music on MySpace. "One day while leavin the [mall], I just threw [Drake's] CD in and let it play," Prince told music-industry veteran Al Lindstrom in an April interview. Lil Wayne And Rihanna: Who Wore Trukfit Better?

Image
Lil Wayne and Rihanna both wore Trukfit.Photo: Splash/Getty Hackney Weekend was such a fashion extravaganza as far as Rihanna was concerned, we had to pick and choose our fave outfits carefully. We knew that we wanted to comment on her Trukfit shorts the second we saw those photos of her leaving her London hotel, though, and now, finally, we can! The singer is no stranger to sartorial risks, and although they look perfectly at home on her, the tiger print bottoms are actually meant for dudes. Lil Wayne rocked a pair at the James L. Knight center in Miami last night, and we have to say, we're having a hard time deciding who wore them better. Lil Wayne gets some bonus points because, you know, they're from his own line, but we love how Rihanna styled hers with a cropped jersey and converse. The shorts totally remind us of that brief era in the early 2000's when board shorts were huge, and not just at the beach, but paired with a plain white tee as Wayne does, they're 1

5 Things Lil Wayne Needs To Make "Dedication 4" A Classic

First, the good news: Lil Wayne is releasing a new mixtape, Dedication 4 , next month. Now, the bad news: It's not 2007 anymore, so we have absolutely no idea how good that mixtape will be. We don't necessarily mean that as a slight against Wayne, either. While it'd be easy for us to sit here and bash him for putting out mixtapes like Dedication 3 and Sorry 4 The Wait in recent years that, truth be told, didn't come close to matching the greatness of some of his early mixtapes like Dedication 2 and Da Drought 3 , we understand why he's struggled a bit. The guy has put out a massive amount of music over the years, and it'd be damn near impossible for him to match the energy and intensity that he had on his early projects. But, we also have to temper our excitement for a new Weezy projecteven if it is part of his Dedication series with DJ Drama when we think back and remember that it's been almost three years since he released a mixtape project in No Ce

PHOTOS: Lil Wayne & Birdman Surprise Nicki Minaj & 2 Chainz On Stage

Image
Ralph Notaro / Splash News Lil Wayne and Birdman gave Nicki Minaj's Miami audience a surprise last night when he popped up on stage during her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded tour stop. The Young Money boss wasn't scheduled to perform during the show held at James L Knight Center in the sunshine state but he made an appearance anyway alongside his YMCMB boss Birdman. Dressed in some interesting yellow and black zebra-striped shorts and green boxers, it didn't take Weezy long to get into the spirit of things, stripping off his white tee to reveal his heavily tattooed torso. Also supporting Nicki last night was 2 Chainz and DJ Khaled, following on from her star-studded performance earlier this week where she was joined by Monica, T.I., Waka Flocka Flame, Bobby V and Lil Scrappy. Lil Wayne Pressured To Pull Scene From Music Video Following Colorado Shooting

Image
lil wayne by Latifah Muhammad July 24, 2012, 13:26pm Lil Wayne has a bit of a dilemma on his hands, and it's all thanks to his music video for the Big Sean assisted track, My Homies Still . The music video, set in a strange section of suburbia, which just happens to house a pink elephant and a man dressed as a panda bear, features a scene reminiscent of the shooting tragedy in Colorado , last Friday (July 20). The scene nears the end of the video, and finds Weezy, members of his YMCMB crew, his teenage daughter, and other youngsters in a movie theater surrounded by skeletons. In light of the lives that were lost during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises , many are calling for the father of four to remove the scene. The video's director, Parris, took to Twitter to address the chatter, responding to a fan inquiry asking him if he felt that the scene was eerie given the shooting rampage. Not at all, he wrote . It's just sad that people try an associate a tragedy

POLL: Should Lil Wayne Change The Cinema Scene In Video My Homie Still?

POLL: Should Lil Wayne Change The Cinema Scene In Video My Homie Still? Lil Wayne has become the hot topic this week after his video for My Homie Still drew sinister parallels to the recent shooting in a Colarado cinema. James Holmes appeared in court yesterday after he was arrested for opening gunfire on an audience and killing 12 people watching the new Batman movie Dark Knight Rises in the cinema. Lil Wayne - who released the now controversial visuals days before the cinema slaying - is seen in the new video rapping in front of 12 skeletons at a cinema the exact amount of people who were killed by Holmes. While no one is blaming the Young Money rapper for his eerily similar visuals to the massacre, is insensitive of him to keep the awkward scenes in his video? Do you think the scenes should be removed out of respect? Cast you vote below. Lil Wayne's 20 Most Ridulous Lyrics! ]]>

Lil Wayne's 'My Homies Still' Video Bares Eeerie Comparison To Colorado Massacre

Image
YouTube Lil Wayne's music video for his new single 'My Homies Still' has caught attention for baring eerie similarities to the recent tragic Colorado cinema massacre. The Young Money rapper released the music video last week just a few days before James Holmes allegedly gunned down cinema-goers as they sat down to watch the new Batman movie, Dark Knight Rises . Careful watchers of the clip have noted that a specific scene in the video shows Weezy sitting in a movie theatre surrounding by 12 skeletons - the exact number of people who were murdered in the slaying. Yesterday, Lil Wayne was indirectly related to the massacre, as the alleged shooter, Holmes, was said to have made a "racially charged" comment about Weezy and rap music, just a couple of months ago. Coincidence is a strange thing! Watch the 'My Homies Still' video below... Lil Wayne's 20 Most Ridiculous Lyrics... ]]>

Lil Wayne's "Homies" Video Draws Comparisons To Colorado Massacre, Skeletons In Theater Scene [Video]

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne is catching heat over his new "My Homies Still" music video drawing strong comparisons to last week's Dark Knight Rises Colorado massacre. Reports specifically point out the music video's usage of skeletons in a movie theater scene. At around the 3:35 mark in the video, Lil Wayne and his gang are transported to a movie theater where they dance, sing and throw popcorn at the screen. In what is surely a case of horrible timing, the theater is occupied by a number of skeletons. Those following the shooting at one Colorado screening of the Batman film noted that, in the main setup for this scene, there are 12 skeletons visible. The exact number of people who lost their lives in the Dark Knight tragedy. Later in the video, the camera pulls back to reveal many more skeletons (upwards of twenty, by our count), but it still seems to be an eerie coincidence. ( E! Online ) There is also speculation of a Batman symbol presence toward the vide

WATCH: Lil Wayne's Poorly Timed Cinema Massacre Music Video

Image
Universal In an unfortunate coincidence, Lil Wayne released a video featuring a grisly scene in a cinema just hours before the Aurora, Colorado massacre. The 29 year old rapper released the clip for 'My Homies Still' on July 19th, which features plenty of typically bonkers imagery - including a cinema filled with skeletons. Of course, there's no way that he could have known that James Holmes would choose that night to walk into a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises and kill 12 people, as well as wounding countless others - it's just a terrible coincidence. Should Lil Wayne take the video down as a mark of respect? Check out the video for 'My Homies Still'. ]]>

lil wayne by Alvin aqua Blanco (aqua174) July 22, 2012, 17:27pm Lil Wayne has a thing for sequels and the YMCMB rapper took to the new wave Hip-Hop press release center, Twitter, to announce his next mixtape. "Dedikation 4 komin next month," tweeted the "My Homies Still" rapper today (July 22nd). Fans of mixtape Tunechi should be looking forward to the fourth edition of his D edication series. A question worth asking is whether the next mixtape will be spelled "Dedikation" with a "K," as in the tweet, or properly as the three previous titles. Regardless of how its name will be spelled, the new edition to Wayne's free music catalog will drop sometime in August, so stay tuned for more details. Do you see what we did there? Mark Ronson compares archery to rapper

Mark Ronson says archery sounds like a Lil Wayne song. The producer has recorded a song in honour of the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games. He wanted to make it as unusual as possible, so decided to incorporate the sound of some sports into it. "There's two. We got [Russian sprinter] Kseniya Vdovina's heart rate up to the same tempo as the song and then recorded it with a stethoscope! And also archery sounds. I was like, 'What is the sound of archery?' And then we put all these mics on an archery target so when the arrow hit, it had this really thick boom and it sounded like a bass drum from a Lil Wayne song!" he laughed to Just Pop! magazine. Mark was thrilled to be asked to record the track by Coca-Cola. However, the practicalities of laying down the music proved a challenge. "We went to where they train, to record them in a way that could never be done in professional events because of the hazard of having tiny mic wires tied all over them," Mark
