News: French Says Proof's In The Weezy: "Lil Wayne Went From Selling A Million The First Week To Selling 200K" Friday, Apr 19, 2013 3:15PM Written by Cyrus Langhorne Bad Boy Records rapper French Montana made an interesting proclamation recently, suggesting Lil Wayne 's perceived drop in album sales is a sign the music industry is dwindling. In Montana's perspective, Wayne's inability to sell close to a million copies like his 2008 Tha Carter III LP is proof the biz is in a slump. Do you think Excuse My French will be well received from the onset or will it be a slow burn? I don't know how it is but it doesn't matter what it sells. It'll still be a slower burn because of the way the game is. I mean, look at Lil Wayne who went from selling a million [for Tha Carter III ] the first week to selling 200,000 [for I Am Not A Human Being II ]. I feel like the game's not the same. It's not the art. You just got to have a good product. The onl...

So much NSFW nudity even YouTube wouldn't post it Better late than never? Nine months after the release of 2 Chainz's Based on a T.R.U. Story , the rapper has finally gotten around to dropping the music video for the LP's opening cut "Yuck." The fact that we posted a Vimeo embed and not a prude YouTube clip summarizes all you need to know about "Yuck": There's lots of fleeting nudity, so click play with caution. (YouTube posted 2 Chainz' "I Luv Dem Strippers" video, but "Yuck is apparently where they draw the line.) There are also Rottweilers, black mambas, Lil Wayne wearing an entire ensemble constructed out of American flags, and the most hipsterish string section you've ever seen. It's almost like a hip-hop interpretation of the opening credits of a James Bond film. Maybe never would have been better than late this time. With friends like these, who needs new friends? Not DJ Khaled, who corralled Drake, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross for verses on "No New Friends," the lead single from the producer's upcoming album "Suffering From Success." The track, subtitled "SFTB Remix," began life as a remix of Drake's "Started From the Bottom" (as Drake explained in a radio interview last week), but Khaled's track offers a new beat, a sung chorus from the MC and fresh verses from Drizzy, Ross and Wayne. "This shit's so ill/we had to restart it," Drake raps before shouting out his label head, Birdman, and proclaiming himself "the leader of the new school." Don't tell Busta Rhymes. Neither "Suffering From Success" nor Drake's "Nothing Was the Same" have announced release dates. Drake said last week that he's completing work on his album, his third.
